
Art is essentially self taught, though for a short while attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has taken workshops with John Seerey Lester, Carl Benders and others. He works in oil, acrylic, pencil and bronze. His primary interests lie In Western History, the era of the Rocky Mountain fur trader, Native Americans and in wildlife. Much research is done through travel, books and visiting museums on themes, gear and trappings for his paintings, and in most cases uses actual locations for backgrounds.
Art is a member of Western Heritage Artists, and has been invited to or juried into most of the finest Western and Wildlife shows. His works are now found throughout this country and Canada, Germany, England and Australia. He has worked with the Elk Foundation of the Rockies. Art has done and will accept commissions pertaining to his field of expertise.
